  • Want to know what mood I'm in?

Well, you’re going to know what mood I’m in!

    Mellow

A cute set of images from Unky Moods caught my attention. The author of the site deserves all the credit for it. The only reason I am hosting the images on my own site is to speed things up since the site seemed a bit slow (could also be slow because Andrew’s downloading Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 clips — Game’s out in a week!).

There’s a link to it on the right too, so feel free to check it out!

I’ll try to put a little icon with each post 🙂

  • Inspired cooking by Mr. Oliver

As you may or may not have noticed, I’ve added on the right side of the site a link to the Jamie Oliver website, more exactly the recipes section.

The man is an inspiration when it comes to simple tasty cooking! His salad of roasted squash, proscuitto and pecorino is one of the tastiest and easiest meals I’ve ever made. Any of the recipes welcome personal adaptations so well, you can usually make do with what you’ve got in the fridge, as opposed to those rigid and precise recipes where a single ingredient missing makes it impossible!

    How can you resist?

Go on, cook something exciting tonight!

  • Weekend's over

Ugghhh Can’t believe the weekend is already over!

Yesterday, we went to Bluewater to do a bit of shopping. Yes mom, it WAS as busy as good ol’ Bluewater ever gets… Absolutely barking mad in there! Even I had a hard time making my way around the shops. I was being rushed by Mr. Peps who was done his shopping in about 15 minutes, hah!

I stopped by LUSH to pick up some nice relaxing stuff. Got the Irresistible Bliss and Ultimate Shine. The best thing I bought had to be the Buffy the Backside Slayer, which a big bar of moisturizing cocoa butter full of gritty bits to exfoliate your bum! Then last night, I had a wonderful soak in the bath with Dreamtime. Ok I think everyone gets the point that I love LUSH now!

I used to think it was horrible when I went by LUSH and this aggressive smell would waft out onto the streets. It’s only because it’s a mix of every smell in the shop. When taken separately, they smell GREAT! I love asking staff for their favourites, haven’t been dissapointed by them yet!

Alright I’m off for a bit of two-player Need for Speed. I just wish the tv was bigger… in two player mode, we each have a tiny screen! Oh not long till we get that long-awaited widescreen tv!

  • Amazing flight deals Canada-UK

I just received an email from a friend, and she mentionned this flight-reservation site with amazing deals!!

It’s called Canadian Affair and they seem to have the best Canada-UK deals I’ve ever seen!

If anyone’s considering popping by to visit, it’s worth checking it out!

Thanks for that brilliant link, Julie! One brownie point for you 🙂

  • With a head like a novelty condom…

*bursts out laughing* I just noticed one of my coworkers looks a bit like Robert Llewellyn in his Kryten days… The rubbery expressionless face, and the googly eyes, but thankfully not the walk! 😉

Talking about Llewellyn, I’ve been reading his Man in the Rubber Mask book. Good laugh if you’ve seen at least some of the series, somewhat puzzling if you haven’t, I guess! Apparently, it’s not in stock anymore, which is a real shame!

Anyone have got good books to recommend?

  • sushi II

Alright, I could try and explain how to make the rice and how to make the roll but here are two links that will do that for me 😛

    How to make sushi rice:
    http://www.rain.org/~hutch/rice.html

    How to roll california rolls:
    http://www.rain.org/~hutch/calif.html

Just remember to make the wasabi (if you bought it as powder) at least 10 minutes ahead so the flavour can develop a bit!

And if you’re curious and want to make the other types of sushi, be my guest, here’s the link to the rest of this guy’s site. (and let me know how it turns out!)

I’m really fancying sushi right now but we don’t have what we need and we’re probably going to Costco and Ikea tonight, since we’ve pushed it back so many times.

  • Those dresses…

Here’s a small gallery with my five favourite finds… I’ll add more if I find really terrible ones 🙂

(link doesn’t work anymore, as you may have noticed, so just visit Ugly Wedding Dress to see some more of the horrors some people call wedding dresses. – 22nd September)

  • There.com

So… having an unproductive evening anyways, I decided to have a look at There.com, a 3d chat environment. It reminded me strangely of The Palace, which I used in 1993 or so… but even lamer… It even beat the Sims Online as far as lameness goes.

Sociologists would have a ball analysing that environment and the interactions… I “bought” a shirt and pants using Theredollars or whatever they call their money, and walked around a bit. I asked a few ppl how you could get money, either by winning it or working for it or something. Turns out they had all put *real* money into it to “start themselves up” and “get a look going”… Why oh WHY???

Everyone looks great, I had perfect hair and a perfectly slim bootay in the game, and so did everyone else… But I was thinking what a waste of time and money that was… Girls are in perma-flirty position and boys have perfect white smiles, no wonder some ppl with less than perfect real lives enjoy living in that world!

Granted it’s an interesting experiment, I don’t think I’ll go back in there. It’s just too odd for my liking… I much prefer talking to people in real life… or at least talking to people I know!

… I did have nice abs in there though!
