If Santa really liked me, he would buy me all of these oh-so-cute underwear sets for Xmas!
You know, Santa, I’ve been a good girl this year!

I figured a strong coffee would help me concentrate on the tons of work I need to get done…
BIG MISTAKE!
I made the biggest Tim Hortons cupful of extra-strong instant coffee… Granted, the strength of the coffee is in direct correlation with my incompetence at making coffee. You know something’s wrong with your coffee when you pour milk in it and it doesn’t even go lighter…
*jitters* I feel all speedy and wacked out now! This is SO not helping me be productive!
COFFEE IS EVIL!
This weekend was SO lovely! Friday, Andrew and I both took the day off work. I went to register with the local doctor and we went food shopping, then lazied around and enjoyed the rest of the day. Saturday morning, we jetted off early to go to Brighton to see Lisa, Stuart and their new babies! Two adorable little kittens called Barney and Betty. The photos of the cats will be online soon!
We spent the day walking around Brighton even though it was pouring rain, stopping for lunch at a gorgeous little café/restaurant called Seqqara (I think that’s right?) and then at the Easy Bar for a bit of a drink. Had a lovely evening chatting, playing with the cats, watching X Factor and yelling at the tv — Louis Walsh more precisely – and making fun mixed drinks.
On Sunday, we headed to Sevenoaks early to see Kathy & Roy for lunch. It was a REALLY nice Sunday lunch, and we could already feel the Christmas family get togethers atmosphere in the air… During the afternoon, we struggled to make our way to the London Royal Hospital to go see Andrew’s Nan. She seemed to be doing well, and really enjoyed Stu’s gift – a big pack of bubble wrap, now who’s going to annoy the entire ward with bubble popping? Heehee!
Last night, after making our way home, running away from the mad driving in London, we just relaxed and tried to recover!
And today, it’s back to the office, with mountains of things to do, I’m sure!
Une super découverte par Anita… Si seulement tous les services à la clientèle étaient aussi comiques!
Tonight is the BBC’s Children in Need fundraiser. They’re hoping to raise more money than last year’s £25 millions, through a huge show involving pop stars and tv personalities.

What amazes me about this fundraiser is how the entire country is mobilised for the cause. At my work, there have been mini Pudsey pins you could get in exchange for any donation and today there was a baked goods sale. In comparison to many other fundraisers, ours was very minimal.
I think the main reason why everyone’s ready to put their energy into supporting the fundraiser is that it is, as far as I know, the only one of the year on television. As opposed to the multiple low-budget fundraisers I’ve seen on Canadian tv channels, which people get tired of seeing and just tune out, Children in Need is turned into an exciting event. They don’t keep putting images of beaten up children, trying to get to your wallet through pity, instead we see the good that Children in Need has done over the past 25 years.
Elton John’s donation was £50,000… Granted mine wasn’t as much, but every little helps, right?
Books I particularly liked reading over the years…
Books I WANT to read, some of them I’ve already read, some I’ve part-read, but all I want to read or re-read:
…
Feel free to recommend more books I should read, or tell me which of my must-read’s you think are crap! 😛
So what did I say about wiggling toes on the net?

Click on the picture of my
gimpy toes to watch the film!!
Jo, je sais ce que tu penses! C’est pas parce que j’ai bu! 😯 And Andrea, you may not have believed it but it’s happened! How the hell did I get dragged into this? I was only joking when I said it earlier! I’m going to end up with weirdos with a foot fetish on my site this time!
“Everybody keeps telling me I’m insane, but I don’t even have the faintest idea where this ‘sane’ place is.”
Great quote 🙂
…shot in pictures of course!
Andrew and I finally got our new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P120 digital camera yesterday! Mr. Peps spent the evening taking photos around the living room, trying out the camera’s little features, making me feel like i was being attacked by a paparazzi.
What this means to you is that you’ll be seeing a whole lot more photos from me! Maybe even little videoclips of special events! (I can already see it… Cut to Vero putting a video of herself wiggling her toes on the net. Me so classy!)
We’re such flash bastards!
Can you feel the Christmas atmosphere starting to build up around you? Trying to find out who your Secret Santa is? Finding yourself humming “Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas” in the shower?
I’m finding this year, I’m looking forward to Xmas, which is unusual. Usually, I’m happy to see my family around that time of the year but that’s where it ends, the rest gets on my nerves to no end! The aggressive selling in shopping centres, the low-budget omnipresent advertising on tv (Who thought Curry’s and Dixon ads could get even MORE annoying than usual?) and the looped tapes of Xmas songs in coffee shops. They usually just make me furious and drive me out of the shops but this year they seem to make me chirpy and I hum along.

Oooh look who’s in the Xmas mood!
Granted I’ve avoided the shopping centres so far and that’s likely to p*ss me off no matter what, but that aside, I think I might like Xmas this year! Maybe it’s because British Xmas is less commercially rapacious than in North America? Maybe it’s because I don’t feel like freaking out because of University exams while everyone else is starting to get in the mood? Maybe it’s because we picked out £2 Secret Santa names at work today and I’m curious to know who picked me?
Who knows! I’ll just smile, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere taking over the office around Xmas week and most likely end up annoying the crap out of the coworker sitting next to me by singing Xmas carols!!! *passes some Xmas spirit around in the form of mince pies*
